SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 625 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, including 78 additional deaths.
In southern Illinois, new cases were announced in Alexander (1), Jackson (3), and Union (1) counties. Three new deaths due to COVID-19 were announced Wednesday. Two individuals were from Union County. One individual was from Jackson County.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 129,837 cases, including 6,095 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 3 –June 9 is 4%.
