SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 797 new cases of COVID-19, including 95 additional deaths Tuesday

In southern Illinois, new cases were reported in Johnson (1) and Williamson (4) counties. One death due to COVID-19 was reported in Randolph County.

Statewide, IDPH is currently reporting a total of 129,212 cases, including 6,018 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.

The seven-day statewide positivity rate from June 2 –June 8 is 4%.
