SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — A member of the Illinois General Assembly has tested positive for COVID-19.
Representative Edgar Gonzalez, Jr. (D-Chicago) made the announcement on his Facebook page Monday. Gonzalez says he will be self quarantining and will not attend this week’s session in Springfield.
Representative Jonathan Carroll (D-Northbrook) also announced Monday he will not be attending this week’s session because he has come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Carroll says he has tested negative for the virus, but will be self-quarantining at home as a precaution.
