HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — Two of the more popular destinations in the Shawnee National Forest are now closed to the public.

The Garden of the Gods Recreation Area and the Bell Smith Springs Trailhead are off limits in accordance to social distancing guidelines.

Last week, the forest service announced the closure of a number of developed campgrounds and restrooms.
