HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — The Lusk Creek Wilderness area in The Shawnee National Forest has reopened to the public.

The Pope County location closed for the removal of a small population of feral hogs.

A total of twenty-five of the wild animals were removed Monday and Tuesday. The area reopened Wednesday.
