JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — Two Jackson County men have been sentenced to federal prison time for the distribution of methamphetamine.

34-year-old Jonathan Moore of Carbondale and 35-year-old Elijah Lacy of Murphysboro both pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and attempted possession the intent to distribute more that 50 grams of methamphetamine.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, both Moore and Lacy were involved in the sale and distribution of ice between December 2018 – January 2019.

Moore had multiple packages of high purity meth mailed from California to residents of Jackson County. The meth was then put on the streets by Moore, Lacy, and others.

Jonathan Moore will spend the next 17 ½ years behind bars; Elijah Lacy the next 19 ½ years. A third man, Kenton Murillo also pleaded guilty to similar charges but has not been sentenced.
