MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — A Carbondale man has been found guilty of weapons charges.

32-year-old Dennis Higgins was convicted of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

Higgins was one of two men involved in a July 2019 shootout at the Fields Apartments in Carbondale.

He faces up to fourteen years in prison.
