SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WJPF) — The Illinois Department of Public Health continues to fight a Hepatitis A outbreak with 178 cases being reported statewide as of Wednesday.
Five cases have been reported south of Interstate 64; two in Union County, one in Franklin County, and two in St. Clair County.
Symptoms are similar to that of the flu and can include fever, fatigue, nasua, vomiting, and joint pain.
The best prevention against Hepatitis A is to be vaccinated.
