CARBONDALE, IL. (WJPF) — Metered parking may once again be a thing of the past in Carbondale.
The City Council there has approved a resolution that creates a trial period for up to three hours of free parking in the downtown area. The trial period will start in July and run until January.
Free parking will not apply to the Amtrak lot.
It’s estimated the decision will cost the city roughly $107,000.
