CARBONDALE, IL. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police say a juvenile is in custody in connection to an armed robbery.
It happened just after 12:00 PM Thursday at Han’s Market on East Grand Street.
Police say that the suspect entered the business, displayed a large knife, and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene on a bike.
Carbondale Police located the suspect running from the area shortly after. Police say the suspect ran into an occupied apartment in the Fields Apartment Complex. With help from the resident, officers were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident.
Investigators at the scene were able to recover evidence related to Thursday’s robbery. Police also say that the juvenile suspect was also wanted in connection to a 2018 Armed Robbery case.
