WAYNE COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – One person was injured after a traffic crash involving an armored truck.

It happened Wednesday on Interstate 64 in Wayne County near mile marker 97.

Illinois State Police say that the 23-year-old Joseph Wright was driving the armored vehicle westbound when he rear-ended a tractor trailer that had just merged back into the interstate off of the shoulder.

A passenger in the armored truck was taken to an area hospital for the treatment of their injuries.
