JOHNSON COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – One person is dead, another injured after a single vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in Johnson County.

It happened around 4:40 P.M. Saturday in the eastbound lanes.

State Police say the driver, 68-year-old Robert Rimbey of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, left the interstate near mile post 20, entered the median, and hit a tree.

Robert Rimbey was taken by ambulance to a Kentucky hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A passenger in the car, 73-year-old Hazel Rimbey, was flown to an Indiana hospital.
