MURPHYSBORO, IL. (WJPF) – A Jackson County judge has thrown out Gaege Bethune’s murder conviction in the 2014 death of Pravin Varughese.

Judge Mark Clark vacated Bethune’s first-degree murder conviction Monday on a technicality, saying jurors could have been confused by wording in Bethune’s indictment.

Bethune is currently out free on bond. A new trial date has not yet been set.
