The Marion City Council has voted to place a lien on the struggling Star Centre Mall.

The mall owners have filed for bankruptcy which has forced the city to pick up the tab on taxes and bond payments.

The council’s vote only gave the city attorney the go-ahead to file the paperwork. Any lien would have to be approved by a bankruptcy court.
