One person was injured in a two vehicle crash on US 45 in Saline County.

If happened just before 4:00 PM Friday.

According to police, 36-year-old Cortez Ellis of Harrisburg was driving south on 45. Police say Ellis was attempting to pass several other cars when he sideswiped a car driven by 73-year-old Carolyn Miller as she was pulling into her driveway.

After the collision, Ellis’s vehicle left the highway, hit an embankment, overturned, and hit a utility pole. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

He was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of his injuries.
