At his State of the City address Tuesday, Carbondale Mayor Mike Henry unveiled his city’s new logo branding.
“All Ways Open” has been chosen to be the city’s new tagline. The logo is an abstract crossroads, meant to symbolize Carbondale being the crossroads of two total solar eclipse in a seven year stretch.
The branding cost the city roughly $98,000.
In his address, Mayor Henry also said that Carbondale is, for the third straight year, on track to have the lowest crime rate the city has seen in more than twenty years. Henry also commented on the potential financial struggles ahead of the city due to Illinois’ budget mess.
