A two vehicle crash on Route 37 in Williamson County has injured two people.

It happened around noon Wednesday near Cedar Grove Road.

According to authorities, 77 year old Geraldine Covington of Herrin was driving north when she slowed for traffic ahead of her.

The car behind Covington, driven by 75 year old Bessie Ward, of Vienna, did not slow down and rear-ended her.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Ward was cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
