Police in Carbondale and Herrin believe a string of armed robberies happening in both towns may be connected.

Authorities have now launched a joint investigation and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in seven hold-ups since July.

In each robbery, the bandits have worn a mask and been armed with a handgun.

Police consider these men to be armed and dangerous. Member of the public should not approach them, but instead call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact either the Carbondale or Herrin Police. Anonymous tips may also be made to Carbondale or Herrin Crime Stoppers.
