Multiple people were injured in a three car crash on Interstate 57 early yesterday morning.

State police said a vehicle driven by Ahmed Kulu of Nashville, Tennessee, changed lanes abruptly, causing a semi to hit it and overturn. A 2015 Ford van then struck the semi trailer.

Nine people from out of state were in the van, and were all taken to local hospitals.

Kulu was charged with improper lane usage.

I-57 Northbound was closed for seven hours yesterday to clean up from this crash.
