Benton’s city council tabled a number of requests last night made by Benton Mayor Fred Kondritz. Among them were a vehicle for the mayor to drive, a mayor’s salary increase and flat screen TVs for the mayor and city council room.

Kondritz said he is suggesting more gambling licenses to generate revenue to pay for these items and others.

The 26-item agenda brought out a bigger crowd than usual to the meeting.

Benton’s city council agreed on steps to improve sidewalks and replace the spillway at Benton Lake.
