One person is dead, three others are injured following a three car crash in Perry County.

It happened just after 6:30 Thursday morning on Route 154 just west of Route 51.

30 year old Anthony Hagene, of Steelville was pronounced dead at the scene.

36 year old Jamie Perry, of Pinckneyville, as well as a juvenile passenger in the vehicle, were airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital.

40 year old Edgar Pursell of Du Quoin was taken by ambulance to the Pinckneyville hospital.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Route 154 was shut down for about 4.5 hours while emergency crews attended to the scene.
