The Paducah area is mourning Van Newberry, a McCracken County Fiscal Court judge who was hit and killed yesterday while riding his bicycle.

Officials say Newberry was a civic leader who was influential in bringing Whitehall Industries to Paducah and in the construction of the Murray State University Paducah campus.
