A Herrin woman was sentenced Friday to three years in prison after stealing money from a church choir member during practice, Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti announced on Monday.

Devin Switzer, 37, pleaded guilty to felony theft. She was also found to be on probation from a 2013 theft case, and that probation was revoked.

Switzer entered the First Church of God in Herrin during its choir practice and stole money from the purse of one of the members. She was noticed by other church members doing so.

Zanotti said Switzer will also have to pay restitution to the victims.
