The lack of a state budget continues to plague Illinois. State Representative Brandon Phelps was optimistic that a budget was going to be passed Tuesday but according to Phelps, changes by governor Rauner killed any hopes of passage.

State Representative John Bradley tells WJPF that a lot of people have left Springfield but he’s still working hard for southern Illinois. Representative Bradley also tells WJPF that he’s tired of non-southern Illinoisans labeling our area.

Steve O’Keefe, John A Logan College Director of College Relations, says despite the lack of a budget, John A Logan College continues to operate without problems throughout the calendar year.

 

The House is expected back in Springfield next week. The next fiscal year begins July 1st.
