JACKSON CO- A Cairo man is sentenced to 2 years in prison on felony gun charges.
Nicholas Webb, 35, pleaded guilty to one charge of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Webb was arrested in January following a traffic stop by Carbondale police.
Police had searched the vehicle after their K-9 unit was alerted to the presence of drugs. They had found a loaded handgun in the purse of the driver, Janiece Barber.
Webb had admitted to putting the gun in the purse when police pulled them over.
Webb was charged with 2 counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
He was sentenced to 2 years in prison with one year supervised release after pleading guilty to one charge.
