A Carbondale man was arrested for DUI and possession of a controlled substance.

According to Carbondale Police, 19-year old George Beck was stopped by officers in the 800 block of E. Grand Avenue when officers say he was driving recklessly and hit a posted sign.

Beck was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance, improper lane usage, leaving the scene of an accident, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Beck was taken to the Jackson County Jail, where he posted bail the following morning.
