The SIU Small Business Development Center is set to close at the end of next month due to the lack of a state budget.

According to the Southern Illinoisan, the total budget for the Center is around $350,000, which comes from the IL Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity through various grants.

Since January, SIU has been funding all activity at the Center.

The Small Business Development Center is said to assist 600 small businesses each year.
