A space heater is said to be the cause of a fire which damaged a home in West Frankfort yesterday.

Authorities say the West Frankfort Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the 1100 block of E. Oak St. just after 3:30 pm.

Investigators found that a space heater was being used to unfreeze water lines, which ignited the wall behind them.

No one was injured but the home did sustain major damage.
