Two people were killed in a traffic crash early yesterday morning in Pulaski County.

According to the IL State Police, a Chevrolet Silverado being driven by 43-year old Mike Holmes of Creal Springs was heading southbound on IL Rt. 37 while 61-year old Warren McKinney of Mounds was heading northbound in his Chevrolet Malibu.

Holmes crossed into the northbound lane and collided head on with McKinney, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Holmes was taken to a local hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The investigation into the crash, along with reconstruction efforts, continue.
