Herrin Mayor Steve Frattini is working to reduce the city’s budget deficit, thus leading to a lower tax levy needed for city employees and essential services.

The Southern Illinoisan is reporting that more details will be released perhaps as early as tomorrow, about what measures Frattini has taken to reduce the deficit.

A vote on the tax levy is scheduled for a City Council meeting two weeks from today.
