A Whittington woman is dead after she was involved in a motorcycle crash.

40-year old Jana Miles-Burnett was riding on a motorcycle being driven by 31-year old William Burnett of Buckner along IL Rt. 14 Saturday evening.

William Burnett was unable to avoid a deer that had crossed into the road, and Jana Miles-Burnett was thrown from the bike once the deer was struck.

According to reports, the two had just gotten married earlier that evening and were on their way to the reception.

Jana Miles-Burnett was pronounced dead just after 8 pm at Franklin Hospital.
