Heroin

A Chicago man was sentenced to prison time on charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

According to Carbondale Police, 33-year old Marquan McGee pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, the controlled substance in question: heroin.

McGee was arrested after McGee sold heroin to a police informant on two occasions.

McGee will see 12 years in prison and will also have to serve 3 years of mandatory supervised release.

Also sentenced earlier this week was 26-year old Bryson Christian of Chicago. Christian was arrested after a police informant went into a trailer in which Christian sold heroin. Christian was found with just under 10 grams of heroin in his possession at the time of his arrest, as well as a loaded handgun.

Christian pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, which is a Class 1 felony, and will serve 10 years in prison, and two years of mandatory supervised release.
