Two men were arrested after police responded to a burglary report in Herrin Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Herrin Police Department, officers arrived at a property in the 900 block of N. Park Avenue. Upon arrival, Robert Weir was arrested.
The second suspect, Randy Weir, fled the scene in a vehicle before abandoning the vehicle near the intersection of Van Buren and 17th Streets.
Randy Weir was arrested after a short foot chase. Officers found a small amount of meth and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Robert Weir had a warrant for his arrest in Williamson County, and was charged with burglary during the arrest. Randy Weir was charged with burglary, aggravated fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
