In construction news, The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that the big muddy bridge will be opening this evening.

 

The bridge that carries IL 13 westbound over the Big Muddy River in Murphysboro is expected to be open around 6pm.

 

Officials warn the public that there may be minor delays as traffic is being directed to the bridge.

 

However, eastbound IL 13 will remain how it is currently for the time being, but be cautious when going through the area as the contractor will be removing a temporary concrete barrier this evening.

 

Also, the closure of Cedarview Street between east walnut and Lynda street will remained closed today until 5pm due to water main contruction.

 

This also includes the intersection of Cedarview/Lynda and Crestview Streets.
