A Murphysboro woman had to be rescued after a fire broke out in her home.

80-year old Mary Jones called 911 around 8:15 am Wednesday, and told officers that her oven was on fire and that she was physically unable to get out.

Deputies arrived at her home, which at this point was fully engulfed with smoke, and was able to pull Jones out.

Firefighters took out the fire, and paramedics checked Jones for injury before releasing her.
