Menard Correctional Center in Chester is on partial lockdown after the death of an inmate.

The Springfield Bureau of Lee Enterprises Newspapers is reporting that one housing unit was put on lockdown while the investigation of an inmate’s death is being conducted.

Vienna Correctional Center was also placed on partial lockdown after parts of the facility lost power.
