On Tuesday night, Carbondale Police received a report just before 10 pm regarding a man carrying a knife in the 500 block of E. College St.

It was then learned that the man, 29 year old Dwayne Keith of Carbondale, approached a victim, and allegedly battered that person, who received two non-life threatening lacerations.

Carbondale Police say the victim was treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, and that officers located Keith in the 400 block of E. College St. where he was arrested without incident.

Keith has been charged with Aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon, Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, Aggravated Battery which caused great bodily harm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Keith is currently incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
