RED BUD, Ill. (AP) — A judge has increased the bond for a 20-year-old woman caught driving with a suspended license while awaiting trial for reckless homicide.

Crystal Steinheimer has pleaded not guilty in Monroe County Circuit Court to charges of DUI and causing the deaths of 19-year-old Abigail Liefer and 20-year-old Hannah Marie Porter.

The judge set a $50,000 bond on Thursday after Steinheimer was pulled over earlier this week while driving after midnight in Red Bud.

She was initially released with no monetary bond on a promise to later appear in court. Her license was suspended after the fatal January collision in which her car crossed the center line on Illinois Route 159 and collided head-on with a car driven by Liefer.
