Two children are dead after being hit by a car near Gorham. At 6 pm yesterday evening, Jackson County Deputies received a 911 call, saying two children had been playing by a road, and had been hit by a car.

According to Jackson County investigators, the two boys, ages 8 and 10 were sliding down a bank which was covered in tall grass near Sarensen Rd. and slid into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The boys were taken to St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced dead. The driver of the car is said to be fully cooperating with the investigation.
