The IL House has approved a resolution declaring Murphysboro as the BBQ capital of Illinois.

The resolution which was approved yesterday was sponsored by State Reps. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and Brandon Phelps (D-Harrisburg).

Murphysboro is home to famed pit masters Pat Burke and Mike Mills, and the annual “Praise the Lard” BBQ cook-off.
