A Union County woman who is charged with killing her daughter has been sentenced to life in a mental institution.

Stacey Tiffin was first arrested for suffocating her daughter in 2012, Tiffin was granted home confinement after being freed on bond in 2013.

A bench trial was held for Tiffin yesterday. Tiffin was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

A status hearing will be held for Tiffin next Tuesday.
