A multi-county police chase through five counties came to an end yesterday in Carbondale.

The chase reportedly began in Centralia after a domestic dispute.

The chase proceeded through Franklin County where Christopher Police joined in the pursuit. The driver of the white Chevrolet pickup followed IL Rt. 148 through Williamson County.

The pursuit ended in Carbondale when the suspect decided to flee on foot just off of US Rt. 51 near Pleasant Hill Road.

During the pursuit, a Christopher Police Officer reportedly suffered a fractured wrist when he crashed his car.

The name of the suspect has yet to be released.
