A fire destroyed a trailer and took killed one of its occupants yesterday morning in Makanda.

Jackson County Deputies responded to a call of a fire around 1:40 am, located along Lavender Lane.

Two people who lived inside the trailer were able to make it out, while one was found dead inside.

The name of the victim is being withheld in order for family members to be properly notified.
