A Carbondale man has been sentenced to prison time for his role in a shooting. 19-year old Omari Tinsley of Carbondale was sentenced to 25 years behind bars for aggravated battery with a firearm.

Tinsley was involved in a shooting at Rebound Alternative High School in Carbondale which occurred in January of last year.

Jerome Merriweather was shot in the stomach, and has reportedly undergone numerous surgeries, and will need long-term care.
