A snow plow was shot at while attempting to clear off I-24 in Massac County on Monday.
Just before 11 am, an IDOT plow driver reported that he was shot at while on I-24 near mile marker 37.5. The driver reported that the shots came from a black Chevrolet SUV with tinted windows.
Shortly thereafter, Johnson County Deputies and Illinois State Troopers located the vehicle that was described in the incident, and five people were subsequently taken into custody. Two weapons were found inside the vehicle.
Kenneth Lamont Leonard and Stevon Johnson were charged with unlawful use of a weapon, while Leonard was also charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, and Johnson was also charged with aggravated assault and possession of cannabis.
Eric Callicut was arrested for driving with a suspended license, no valid insurance, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
LaToya Clark was arrested due to the fact that she was wanted on an unrelated warrant.
A fifth passenger of the vehicle was released with no charges.
