No one was seriously hurt when a pickup truck collided with an Energy Police vehicle Monday evening.
Justin Beach of Herrin was driving a pickup truck and reportedly turned into the path of the police vehicle. Beach was cited for failing to yield the right of way and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to Energy Police Chief Shawn Ladd.
The officer was not responding to a call and was driving at normal speed, according to Ladd.
The police vehicle sustained major damage.
