A Jackson County man has been sentenced to prison time for sexually assaulting a child.

41-year old Anthony Starrett of DeSoto pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.

Starrett was arrested in November after an investigation by DeSoto Police.

Starrett was sentenced to 30 years behind bars. He must serve at lease 85% of that sentence, and register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
