An investigation into an incident in which a 3-year old died last Friday morning after being hit by a truck has been closed, with the incident being deemed an accident.

The driver of the vehicle which hit the 3-year old was a caregiver for the child. The accident occurred when the caregiver had misjudged where the child was standing, thinking the child had already cleared the vehicle.

Officers performed CPR on the child until the child was transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, where the child was pronounced dead.
