Police in Murphysboro are searching for who is responsible for an early morning stabbing.

57-year old Maurice Barney was dropped off at St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital around 8 am yesterday.

Barney had two knife wounds, and due to the extent of his injuries, he was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

A suspect in the case has been identified, but no charges have been filed.

No other details have been released.
