More than two dozen people were hospitalized due to activities related to Carbondale’s annual Polar Bear event.

26 people were sent to the emergency room with injuries linked to the event.

The injuries ranged from falls and cuts, to head injuries. All of the injuries coincided with extremely high blood alcohol levels.

19 was the average age of those treated.
